I was listening to Bobby Darin's "mack the knife" and some rendition of "aint no mountain high enough" and then came Nirvanas "smells like teen spirit"

and I know its been brought up before...so screw you...but it seems to me that we have a rather disenfranchised generation that really feels disconnected, unloved, unwanted, and generally lacking in passion. I dont feel like music is leading the way by any means...and that the grunge movement was wildly popular because...

well its why music is always popular. The lyrics may not even come into play but somehow the song is harmonizing with an emotion, a passion, the way it is with a person and their interconnectedness with society....

and we all know it viscerally and in a lot of ways cognitively, that our generation is not as happy...is it the information age that has done this too us?

The fact that a strip club used to be a den of iniquity and now its got nothing on a machine raping some chick suckin off a mule?

did our generation uniwittingly eat the fruit of knowledge and become the most miserable creatures on earth?

:wtf: basically.
