Looks good indeed, can' wait to hear some of those very promising remixes! :)
Dave's a clever guy as well:
"Vinyl sales as a whole have been dropping over the past 12 months and we as a label have to be aware of where the market is moving. The digital format has evolved very quickly and it would seem that less and less people are buying the vinyl format. But, I still think that people like to hold and see a product at the end of the day as opposed to a computer file. The unmixed CD will satisfy the demand out there for Audio Therapy fans and will hopefully bridge the gap for people moving away from vinyl but still wanting an end product. The format worked well and was warmly received for the 'Across Borders' CD release we did last month and as with that release we will also be doing a limited edition 2 x 12” vinyl run."
Glad to see that he's not willing to give up vinyl and CD in favor of the digital media! :) |

Only checked CD1 so far, and i really like it. Buildup is a bit strange, but the tracks are great.
I like the V-Sag mix of Ill Ssa and Kosmas Epsilon & Viton Feat. Dallas - There Can Be Only One (with the guitar from Metallica's 'One') is simply amazing
I'll listen again to it tomorrow (+ CD2) and give my final result :) |

Final review:
I like the idea that Seaman had with an album that contains 1 mix CD and a disc with full tracks. It's smart that he's thinking about the future. For me i dont really care about CD2, since i'm not into dj'ing. The tracks on the second disc are cool (i like the Walsh & Coutre remix of My Own Worst Enemy, the Trafik remix of K Roxx - Surreal is nice and Stel & Tone Depth did a nice job on Ashland - Clear), but for me its al about Disc 1 :)
CD1 starts nice, normally i hate acapella's (its sooo 2004), but when they use Infusion - Legacy i dont mind, hehe. From a dark track one to a pumpin' third track is a big step, too big in my opinion. The 'fifteen minutes of fame' for Kosmas Epsilon (three tracks from his hands consecutively) is nice. Monster Puppy is a decent tune, the V-Sag mix of Ill Ssa is good and There Can Be Only One (Remember Metallica's 'One' ) is great. The two tracks that follow are nice, Finding Time is great, just like Hybrids mix of Kiss For The Dying. Tone Depth's To The Moon doesnt really fit in the tracklist, but the track itself is nice. CD ends good with Phatjak - Dirty Sunday.
Untho the buildup is a bit strange and To The Moon doesnt really fit in the tracklist i really enjoyed the cd. It had to grow on me, but after i listened to it a few times i must say the cd was better than i expected :)
8.9/10
(The result is only for the Mix CD, as i see disc 2 more as a bonus) |
