Delay with Sounblaster Live

Hi,

I've got a midi keyboard (Edirol PCR-30) and I also use a Soundblaster Live soundcard. The problem what I've got is that there is a delay when I touch a note on my keyboard and the sound I hear. Is somebody familiar with this problem and can it be solved with a better soundcard (i.e. a M-AUDIO soundcard)?
Thnx.

That delay you are hearing is called "latency". A lot of people experience latency when producing but you can minimize it. A better soundcard would reduce the latency but I am sure if you download the latest drivers for the card you have or if you try to download "Asio" drivers then you can get the latency down to an acceptable level so that you don't notice it at all (mine is currently 8-9 milliseconds with an EMU soundcard and you should be able to get yours down to something similar). What sequencer do you use?

try out "kx drivers" then turn your latency down to like 8ms, then you wont notice

Thnx for your reaction, I use both cubase sx and reason as sequencers.
I also tried the kx drivers but the f*** my whole pc, so i better buy an other soundcard :-D

well one thing to remember with the kx drivers is, put your audio output cable, out from the black connector and not the green ats you get no audio output

Dumbass.

I get 4ms delay with my SB Live using no new drivers. the ones that come on WinXp for SB Live work fine. Check your cubase VST settings.
