| i would strongly suggest you look at allen and heath or an external eq unit if your looking for very good eq's. |

i don't know if you noticed, or if it matters to you... but i'll pointed out anyways, since it's what caused me to NOT consider this mixer anymore.
there is no gain/trim knob on any of the channels. you have to control the gain via the channel fader. -it's a shame, because it's the only rane 4channel that i can afford w/eq on every channel.
is the +/- 15dbs enough? maybe an ecler nuo4 or 5 would serve you better. i'm pretty much set on picking up the denon x1500. |

Hi ampz, I accually owned a MM8z two years ago before I upgraded to a Xone 62. The sound quality is almost identical between the xone and mm8z. I know there is no gain adjustment but to be honest I never had any problem with it, songs never sounded to low or high as long as you keep the volume at 0db. The fader on the mm8z beat out my xones penny and giles fader IMO, I only use the volume faders though. I got the mm8z for $350 at the time which was a steal, its build quality is unmatched! For the price this mixer is amazing, IMO I would recommend going for a Xone 62 or 92 if its in your price range.. if not the mm8z would be a awesome choice.. you wont regret it. As for the EQ I thought it was very accurate.. only complaint i had were they are very close to the volume faders which got in the way sometimes but I survived. If you want I can send you some of my older mixes which I mixed on the MM8z if you wanted to see how it sounded. Good luck!!

Why not the Rane MP2016a with the XP2016a?
Or a cheaper option, the Urei 1620LE? |
