volunteer for New Orleans tragedy?

ne1 know ne information or nething that i can do to help volunteer here in NYC with the tragedy in New Orleans? its crazy, but something like this brings me right bak to 9/11, when my dad was in the towers and i watched them fall... he came out alive, but thats not the point, please some1 list ne sites with more info, if u can?

i think u gotta be trained to be volunteering cuz last they need is to be looking for missing volunteers. I guess u could help give out food and supplies. Hit up the Red Cross or Salvation Army.

There are tons of relief efforts going on although I don't have specific info at the moment. There's always the red-cross website and giving blood. I'll be calling up my hospital and doing that this weekend.

i think NYC is sending only well trained troops so far. But i admire your willingness to help.
I donated money and honestly it was the best i could do in this situation. My heart is crying for my two darling friends in New Orleans.:(

well, i remember back with the tsunami disaster, help was used even for loading boxes and stuff, so i was counting more on stuff like that, even giving blood too... thanks for the replies though, ill check those sites! :)
