Awww reading this thread made me miss my mom....I am going home for a bit this weekend for the first time since July....can't wait to just sit down and catch up like we always do....talking for hrs and hrs.

I am the worst daughter for going home to visit....my mom says she understands, but I can tell she is sad and misses me since I moved here to TO.....I really need to change that.

Dude you're awesome.

I'm mad at my Mom right now...and I still haven't apologized to her and reconciled things the way I always do...this time she's really pissed me off...(hehehe that's what I always say)...oh well, I guess time heals all.

Yeah, I'd die for my mommy too...I just can't reason with the woman!

You know what my mom does that's completely and utterly awesome. Whenever I'm going out and getting ed up she'll drop me off wherever I'm going to pre-game or whatever...then when I'm done and done, I can call her at any hour of the night and she comes to pick me up!! Then many times she goes to get me food too! Haha...how many parents would do that? Most would be like... you...you get drunk, find your own damn way home!

This is all true. Your mom is VERY awesome to you. Mine parents would NEVER pick me up drunk... if I wanna get drunk, and I'm stuck somewhere, call a cab - they're not picking me up... but nor should I expect them to.

You have it made in the shade Lisa! ;)

P.S. Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucky!!!

My mom would pick me up, but doesn't mean she would be happy about it or talk to me on the ride home though :)

seriously.. my mom is the .. I love the fact she is fairly young and can relate to me still (dad included).. I can talk to her about anything without her getting upset with me.. we can talk for hours about non-sense BS, anything serious or simply anything at all.. and she supports me no matter what. (even when my decision was to move to the other side of the world, she cried but still supported me 100%)

I *heart* my mom :D (and dad too)

My parents would do the same thing if that would occur to me but I am responsible for my own actions thus I shall face the consequences that arise.

Indeed, I don't keep from my mom (or my dad, so really my parents).

They're aware that I drop E, among anything else I've ever done, including sex when I was younger, or underage drinking, all that.

They'd rather know than have me keep it a secret from them. You can never help your kids if you don't know what's truly going on in their lives.

But more importantly, I just dont believe in lying to them. When I do I feel guilty about doing it, and if I'm doing something and it's not bothering me (as shown by the fact I'm doing it!), then why am I feeling guilty?!

My parents have never liked the fact that I do E (or that I get drunk, smoke weed, etc.), but I still always felt I could go to them and not keep secrets - I could discuss such things with them in an open manner, which I feel is very healthy. I'm glad I have my mom (and dad) and that they are who they are! I dunno how anyone can lie to your mom (or dad) if one of them actually asked you frankly if you do drugs. Lying for me to my parents just goes against what I believe in. I'd rather deal w/ the consequences of telling that truth than lie to my parents.

I love that no matter what, I can be truthful and frank with my mom about stuff and have real discussions.

Thanks Mom!

my mom laughed when I sent her an email while I was in Holland telling her I was too ed up from the weed to give her a decent reply accept to say I was ok and high and not to worry about me... :D
and to top it all off.. my bro gave me a quarter of weed for xmas last year. my parents didn't say boo.. they are ok that way.. pills.. they know.. just won't admit it.. anything else.. they know and it just isn't talked about..

I'm responsible for my own actions as well. In fact I don't ask her to do it for me...I tell her not to. The reason she does it is b/c none of my friends really live around me, so at the end of the night, I'd always end up having to take cabs home by myself. My mom really doesn't want me to do that and insists on picking me up all the time. She's very protective in that way, and doesn't feel safe with me being drunk and taking rides home from cab drivers.
I really do appretiate what she does for me, and she knows it. If I'm going out when I know she has to work in the morning or do something early in the morning though I pretty much refuse to let her pick me up. Many times as well, if I know I'm going to be out past 3ish, I'll take a cab home.
