hehe, good work! I wonder what will happen in these next years, you know? It's so strange that those things we've seen are part of some "history"... I feel old now :D

Great Work.

This is a great post and gives a lot of good information on the history of trance for EUROPE.

I would like to add, that here in the US, I would say that songs like Robert Miles - Children, Underworld - Born Slippy, Alice Deejay - Better off alone, and Oakenfold's - Tranceport CD played a bigger part of the trance history.

I remember this post. Possibly the most useful piece of information to our music culture.

I probably speak for everyone when I say this.

PUT IT IN THE CLASSICS AND OLD THREADS FORUM!!!!!!

Actually The other day I did some research after going out because I Couldnt Sleep so This is actually all I found.

IT all Started w/ Detroit Techno (Everywhere pretty much, some acid house)

Talla 2xlc Took the Detroit Techno and Opened Technoclub in 1985(GermanY), it took until 1991 till the first Trance tune was ever made.

They took the tempo of Techno and the melody of house and merged it. It was DJ Dag and some other dude (Trance2Dance). In Germany.

At the Same Time PVD was in Berlin, The wall Came down and he also heard Techno Everywhere. He started to make his own trancier stuff in 92. Ferry began around the same time.

NOW I wanted to know when it came to the US and By whom.... After hours of research. This is what I came up with......

NY was out of the question beacuse everywhere was house/acid house, thus paradise garage, limelight etc.

So I decided on where I live Florida (Miami). David Padilla at the time at a resdency @ the Warsaw Ballroom and also In Germany. BUT He was still spinning Techno/House

George Acosta in 1994 Opened Shadow, and it took till around 97/98 till Padilla/Acosta started brining in Trance/Other Artists from Over Seas.

So Trance in the US is only like 6-8 yrs old.

Any ?????'s

Orlando had a huge seen with Kimball Collins, but mostly breaks/house.

Digweed was here in 96 @ Groovejet in Miami, but it took him until 97/98 to hook with Sasha and merge house and trance.

And as i said before Jam and Spoon were the first together with Dance2Trance, but nobody listened to me.

Although it's taken me 9 months to see this and even though I don't agree with everything, I have to say VERY, VERY impressive work there. I have an idea of where I think trance originally came from over the years and how it's developed over the years though I've never took the time to put it all down into written words.
