Advantages between Traktor and Final Scratch

Alright, I want to buy some equipment, I'm thinking about Final Scratch, Serato, or Cdj's. I'm currently using Traktor DJ Studio.

I want to know, what are the improvements that i will get with Final Scratch over Traktor, as it uses the same software.

Let's Say i have an external Mixer conected to my computer , and I'm using Traktor only, What can I do if i get the fional scratch that i can not do with Traktor, as the only things it does is emulate the mp3 to the vinyl.

Maybe scratching, but other than that what will I get.

Thank You

dude with traktor you press Sync....

with final scratch you need dj equipment and you really hafto match the beats.

Edit: FS just provides the audio engine to feed the music to the cds/vinyls... No real advantage except that you use an external medium to operate it.

You will:
- get to look cooler
- get to work harder
- get to buy & lug around extra gear (mixer/turntables/scratch amp)
- get headaches from FS related system glitches (maybe)

Check the Native Instruments forum & see what they say there. Lots of Traktor users are ex-vinyl and not many want to go back there even with FS. But if it floats yer boat, more power to ya.

if youre an FS2/TRAKTOR lover, I'm telling you, get yourself the new ECLER NUO4! It's so perfect for TRAKTOR, its crazy!

all the faders and x-fader, the EQ's, gain, everything works on the mixer to control TRAKTOR. Seriously, its so much fun....you dont even need turntables!

sorry...I'm just really excited about it. :p

i dont see how mixing without tables/cd players can be any fun.

if your going to get a vinyl control unit i suggest you go for serato scratch. Its a million times more stable then final scratch. Its alot less likely that it will freeze up during a mix and it uses alot less processing power as oposed to final scratch. Final scratch has more gizmos but it is known for crashing all the time. Pvd switched from final scratch which i beleive he was being payed to use to serato scratch simply becouse its so much more stable. I use serato scratch and it is the bomb. Works perfectly and hasint crashed on me once during a live gig. Just my 2 cents

With Traktor, and probably FS, you can also use these MIDI controllers as well as others, they can be set up to work like a mixer or you can still use a regular mixer and use the MIDI box for other things. They're lots of fun, far better than only using a mouse, and relatively low cost and weight:

Hello
First I want to thank each one of you for your help,I appreciate that.

I think I got my answer, the only difference is that with Final Scratch I will beatmatch bymyself, and I have to pay a lot of money to get the full aquipment.

and well I want to learn do it bymyself, so I will not depend on a computer, i thinkt hat will help me anyway to understand more the music, and it will feel more natural, but as for the mixing, it's gonna be the same, I don't get more "advantages", just that I will look more cool as someone said jejeje.

So my conclussion, with Final Scratch I'll learn to beatmatch, and to give something extra sound or something than just "Traktor", I will have to get a good mixer.

About Serato and Final Scratch, I've browse a lot of forums aroudn th einternet and I've heard overall, that Serato is Better, so I'm looking for that one.

The Reason I made this Thread between Traktor and Final Scratch, it's beacuse it uses the same software, so the answer I would get here, would be more objective.

The Main Reason I wanna get this kind of software , its beacuse i can store all of my music in one place (My Computer), I can save cue points, and it will be more organized, thi way I think I'm gonna save time, like looking for a record in a bag and get it insert into the cd mixer or the vinyl, I will save time with this, and I will be able to concentrate more on my mixes, Without the feel of the computer doing the "Sync" for me.

Thank YOu Very Much again.

I like it, fairly small size, lightweight, and USB powered, has just about the right number of knobs and switches to control the Traktor v2.5 2 channel mixer that has EQs, kill switches, and filters. Cross-fader is very light touch. Knobs are a bit small.

The knob layout is unconventional but not bad, similar to the layout in Traktor 2.5. The designers extended the design of a previous product, the UC-16 which is similar but no cross-fader, that's why it has a wierd layout.

Most of the knobs and switches can be re-assigned to other Traktor functions if you want, same thing with other software. So the assignments are very flexible and you set it up the way you like it.

Traktor 3, coming soon, has lots more controls and more complex EQ and filtering, so the X-Session might not be as useful as it doesn't have enough knobs and switches. In fact there's no Midi controller available yet that has enough knobs etc.

Evolution division of M-Audio makes this box, also the UC-33e which has more faders and knobs and I think is used more with production software like Reason.
