| im just saying, how cool are you going to feel walking around playing ape escape. when you walk by a girl you will put it down and pretend like you dont have it, unless you enjoy looking like a kid. |

If that's the case then you can't consider yourself a gamer. You'd usually be enthralled with the game... Don't even notice the girl. :p
Anyways, I already got myself a cute girlfriend. No need to hide anything, not that I would if I didn't have one. |

Honestly, most of my games, I never even touch much.
PSP is good if you want Emulators on it. I play some old school SNES and Genisis, even some nintendo more than my actual PSP games. Other than that, I use it as an ipod.
For emulation, you need 1.5 or higher firmware btw. I dunno if these newer psps have it. |
+1.
that's all i'd use the PSP for. Emulation, Mp3's, and movies.

You mean to tell me that... the old PSP's couldn't go online!? :stongue: ... damn :( I didn't know that.
Well yeah, to answer DarkAngel, I just have to be anywhere with wifi wireless internet access. So for example, my apartment has a wireless network that I can connect off of. I can also go online with my PSP at school, Starbucks, Yoshinoya, libraries and internet cafes. I can even leech off of peoples Laptop signals if they're wireless. And yeah, I can pretty much go to any site. The first time I tried it (at school) I went to msn.com and checked out news on that hurricaine that's closing in on Texas. The pics were sooo freaking crisp. But yeah, I've gone there, to gaming websites, tranceaddict, google, etc all on my psp ant it's fucking awsome!
In the end though, as far as the original question is concerned, whether or not it's really worth it, IMO is simply based on your income. If it's gonna be stress for you to buy a psp then you're probably not ready for one. Myself for example, I just got mine 2 days ago but I didn't have to think twice about putting up the funds for it, so for me of course it was worth it. I got an awsome entertainment machine for myself who's library i can update without being stressed out about it. It's particularly great because I have rather long subway trips in between school, work, and home. I make good use of it, which is another factor one should look at when purchasing something like this.
As far as the age factor, at least as far as us guys are concerned, we'll never grow out of our toys, whether it's PSP's, digital cameras, sports cars that talk, plasma tvs and home entertainment system, et cetera... it's all toys in the end. Within a year I'll be in grad school. A psp is no big deal to have in college. Moreover I see far too many working adults in their 30's, and 40's on the train every day with PSP's.
In anycase, this thing does pretty much everything. If you've got a decent amount of money, then it's definately worth getting. |
isn't it a bit annoying to type in URLs then? |

Whaaaa? That game kicks ass. I normally don't play on my PSP @ home, but i bought that game just to have something to do on a long air plane ride. When I got back I just had to finish it.

Yes. Extremely annoying. They're supposed to be coming out with some kind of keyboard for it but that doesn't matter. You can set online bookmarks/favorites and just bring up a menu and go to them which is infinately easier than typing urls out all the time. |

| i got a psp a few weeks ago before i had a long plane ride and absolutely love the thing, i bring it pretty much wherever i go if i plan on doing any waiting anywhere... i'll just bust out the psp and play some good ol' super nintendo or nes games or somethin... it's the perfect travel device - also good for keeping people in your car quiet for long periods of time |

If I could, I'd definitely buy one, it's great to have if you travel long hours, it has music, games, movies, I don't see why not?
GET IT! :) |

| There is going to be a price drop very soon due to the slow sales of the PSP. |

There's no solid information that this is true. |
