ATTN: Virtual TT Users.. Help!
View this Thread in Original format

I'm doing a mix with Virtual Turntables.. and dumping it to WAV with Total Recorder software..

My Problem: At some arbitrary point the program will skip, throwing the songs off beat..or "train-wreck" as most DJs call it..
Anyone else have this problem?
How can I resolve this?
Could it be my setup?

I'm running:
P2 Celeron 366 OC'd to 458 MHz
128 MB ram
SB Live!
Windows 2000
-With hardly anything running in the background

Any help is appreciated!!

My advice... don't bother. Use Acid Pro or something instead, I have a very similair setup (celeron 566, everything else the same) and its skips once in a while for me too... I haven't really gotten into any other live mixing programs, so I can't suggest any of those, but other people have thrown out plenty of suggestions there.

Well I'm using a P233, with 64Mb, and I never get any skips! Try adjusting the buffer size in Settings > Device Settings... > Buffering. Make it bigger, and that might help. Also, go to Settings > Inteface > General... and set it to normal if it isn't already. Use the Win2k process killer by hitting Ctrl+Alt+Del to get rid of all of your programs in the background.
If that fails, then I can't help!

Hey well I always get the same problem to man, I always set up a mix im about to do and i want to record it and every 20 seconds i get skips... Even during a shoutcast... I have got a 566 with windows 98 and 64 of ram... I think upgrading the ram to a value of 128 will give it a chance not to skip and mite help it last even longer :)

Hey guys..

I just installed Windows 98 on another hard drive..
I recorded about 3 mixes.. and had absolutely no more problems with it skipping anymore..

So maybe VTT just has ty Windows2000 support?

Someone also told me that the NTFS file system really sucks for audio work..

Great work tryp2nite. But I got Win98 with a 20gig h/d I still get skips. Have you changed any settings with 98 at all?
tryp2nite
Hmm..

What recording software are you using?
Try using Total Recorder..
You can get it here:

E-mail me for the crack..

Also, upgrading to 128 megs of ram might be a really good idea..

As for my Windows98 settings.. everything is pretty much set at default..
