Because he attempted to on this thread when there were plenty of decent replies before his. And for whatever reason, he has personal issues with me enjoying Armin van Buuren sets. Kinda odd for someone to care so much... |
Actually, I don't recall him saying anything about Armin in this thread (don't recall previous ones). I've seen Brian at a few trance events since I met him.
He did rip on the thread because he sees Sasha and Digweed like apples and grapes, good on their own, but even better together in a fruit salad.
I appreciated the thread because no one was posting anything the other day and at least it sparked some positive discussion about why people like one over the other for ahile. Both are top notch DJs, with different styles, though. |

Him among others have a problem with me when I state how Armin is the best dj in the world. No big deal, I was just stating a fact. And as far as this thread is concerned, I brought it up because I finally got to see Digweed. And since he is constantly compared to Sasha I figured I would state my opinion.
I liked Sasha, but this electro thing might take a long time to grow on me. It is neat to listen to but not very danceable. I had a kick ass time when I saw him because the vibe in the crowd is still awesome. But I was standing there for a couple hours just listening. Finally he threw some trance in the mix and I remembered I was in a club and not at a show.
I have always been very fascinated with the dark progressive sound but never got a chance to experiance it in a club. Digweed was a perfect introduction to it. He threw it down real hard and had me dancing nonstop from the time he came on till the time I left. That is what a dj is supposed to do in a club. And again, it is cool Sasha is experimenting but I think he should wait till it finally works in a club and not just on cd because I dont think I will go out of my way to see him again till he gets back into some danceable music. |

u say Electro isnt dancable? u know what... a dancer could dance to any music...that just means ur a n00b to dancing :p and as far as Sasha playing lot of electro...not really...digweed plays the same amount if not more electro in his sets then sasha does! when i saw Digweed for the 5th time in early January 2005 for a Tsunami fund raser here in LA he threw down a 3 hour electro house set...one of the best i have heard from any DJ! |

Read my reply again. I said it will have to grow on me. When it does, maybe I will feel more comfortable dancing to it. You... are... a... noob. :)
You saw Digweed in January. I saw him last week. End of discussion. |

no need to defend me guys...it's alright...
just so doombot knows which i'm sure he doesn't but he'll act like he does...
where was armin when sasha dropped xpander at twilo? that should be my response to the "what scene comment" and if you had the slightest clue as to who i am, what i do, and where i been, you'd know to shut your ing mouth and stop running like you know something...
if you don't know now you know alright!
and in this thread i've never ted on you about your admiration for armin van buuren, just understand that his trance act is a replica of many other acts. He connects with the new comers to the trance scene and if you did any research, you'd understand how Ferry Corsten and Tijs brought Armin under their arms coming out of Holland. And if you new anything about Armin, you'd know he is still and forever will be, living in the shadows of the netherland greats Tiesto and Ferry. I think you'd better do some homework before you start insulting people, especially when you are new to a regional thread, regional community, and last but not least, the greatest stomping grounds for emerging artist.
and one more thing

I saw Ferry twice this year. Did nothing for me. Saw Armin twice this year. Greatest dj set I have ever heard (live). And in this year alone I have seen a substantial amount of djs and sets. I dont care who you are or where you come from. Your attitude to other peoples opinions and tastes is just complete . People like you are never satisfied so it pains you to see others who are. No problem dude. But please stop quoting me with your negative comments about how I will never know this or never know that. I will say it one more friggin time to you and people alike. I have been listening to EDM only a few years after I was a ing sperm cell. More then someone like yourself could say. And wow... after all those years, I still like Armin van Buuren!!!!!!!!!!!!

I left a couple hours after his set. I heard progressive when he started. Maybe when I left... |

Not defending you brian, I just wanted to throw my fruit salad analogy in there. Sorry. :)
On a side note, I Ferry. Can't wait for his residency to start (though we'll probably catch Burridge and Hawtin in October instead) |

Now I'm confused...you are taking a defensive role to justify my reaction? You are trying to make me look like the one who called you out? Wait let me guess, you'll start editing your previous post. Lets be clear here, I responded to your witty comment about me being 18 and not in the scene o wait...i'll just go back and quote it for you hold on...i'll refresh your ignorant memory...

No I am not kidding. And, what scene? TranceAddict.com? :stongue: He probably didnt start listening to EDM till he was 18 and now thinks he is cool because of it. Good for him, but as far as being into this music longer... DOOMBOT for the win. |
Ok either I can't read correctly, or you have a severe memory problem because based on the statement above and your reaction to my response, it'd seem that I was the one making derogatory remarks about your "time in the scene" - i think you need to adjust yourself since you obviously have the slightest clue what the you are talking about....
and if you was listening to EDM since you was a sperm cell but you only started being a fan how long ago? i quite honestly smell a BANDWAGON JUMPER - how does it feel to be "in the scene"? Oh yea, "it's the in thing now right" so go on back to your alice deejay cds and louie devito trance compilations and do me a favor pick up a copy of Northern Exposure, press play on your "My First Sony" and then sign up to TA with another nickname so you don't feel retarded...
and for the record, don't talk and think people ain't gonna respond... |
