| hehehehe...well this board's main clientel isn't based in America! SO there are only a select few from the NyC area actually post in here. Plus there aren't alot of BS threads in here...like people saying "hey" and stuff. It's mainly talk about partying, clubs, the scene etc. Most of the chatting goes on in the main music discussion forum and the chill out room. I have the same avatar for another board I post on. But my name is diff...hehehe I should have just kept the same name...it would have made it easier for peeps to identify me. What other boards are there that are decent.. I don't like club planet.... I just registered for Ezdreamer last week...that seems like a cool board. Lots of peeps post there from the area and they seem to have a great love, appreciation and understanding of the scene. |

hehehe I didn't say it was about Toronto...all I said was their main clientel wasn't in America....which basically means I'm talking about Europe and Asia as well...those forums move pretty fast from what I understand. This board has way more forums then Ez...which is why the NyC forum is slow bc why would someone post a BS thread here when they can do it in the chillout room... Diff logic behind the setting up of the boards...that's all. :D
I'm Diva on Ez... I think you met my bf this weekend... he was off being a nawtee boi when you met him...hehehe I was getting harrased on the main dance floor at Exit at the time.... :rolleyes: I hate the majority of the male population there....tooo aggressive! |

i know i was kidding. i'm just really, really bored at work today (one more day and i'm off for the rest of this YEAR!!)
The aggressive thing... yeah its one side effect you get from shooting steroids (besides shrinking their 'little friends' to an oblivion and getting pimples on weird parts of the body ewww!)... people that tend to shoot steroids are inherently aggressive & stupid to begin with.

I just know Lori out of that bunch. Lori's a sweetheart. When did you meet them? I gotta tell you, it was really weird how we got to know each other... (a long story that has to do with a girl in vancouver, a guy in HK and our trip to ibiza together).
I've met Jay 3times now but havent really talked much... clubs = bad place to chit chat.

I work in finance as well....back office of foreign exchange to be more exact for a firm based on wall st...you might have heard of them...brown brothers harriman. I work their jersey city office.
I'm 21...Jay is 27.
I met Lori only once at vinyl for dave seaman. were you there that nite?
clubs are a horrible place to chat..every other word out of my mouth is always "whut?!?!?" lol |

my god it must be great to be 21! I wish..... i'm 28. alittle old for this kind of stuff but i need my release! actually i used to party like a maniac when i was 24-7 (ah the good old twilo days) but now i've chilled out alot...(except for ibiza this summer/fall...omg!)
Yeah! LOL, I saw that building everyday for 3yrs when I worked right across from them on Wall street (60Wall) until we sold our building to Deutche Bank (I work for JPMorgan. I finally moved off to midtown. downtown was depressing even before 9/11!)
Yeah I was there for seaman! good party!! I might have met you... do you know Mike? he's part of this board also (i think his sn is bigpimpin'? PUHAHAHA!!! :stongue: ). I think i was wearing a space Ibiza shirt that night...dun remember. like always, i meet a lot of people at parties but dont remember the next day....usually too :rolleyes: |

One of my closest friends used to do operations (i'm figuring thats what you're doing?) for F/X @ Goldman.... he hated it and he worked nutty hours. |

hehehe...yeah fx sucks...its operations...the hole of any company....I wanna get my ass into front office...but it's hard with them being on wall st (#63 hehehe right across the street) and me being in NJ. We just leased a new building so they are moving back office to NyC again! Thank GOD! I'm gonna network my ass off when I get there! lol I really want to get into account managing. I've made good contacts in this one dept... they think I'm the greatest! lol even sent me a christmas present to thank me...but I'm hoping to schmooze my way in there eventually. The hours are crazy here! I used to work all kinds of crazy hrs...now I'm 8:30 - 4:30. I even worked on the night shift for a while...as well as USD payment processing and the like. I've got a pretty good background in money movement foreign and domestic. Anyway that's my job! lol
Yes, I know Mike...I saw him there that nite...he might have introduced us. I really don't remember to be honest...I'm horrible with names but amazing with faces...I never forget a face.
Yeah I'm young...well 21...but I've been partying since I was 18-19 and I'm approaching 22 soon. And I feel old for some reason! lol
You're friend works for Goldman...a friend of mine works for them too...some sort of special assignment thingie...I dunno I never really got into it with him. All I know is that he makes good $$$$.

wow you've got great hours! He used to work 90+hrs a week (this was quite a few years ago). He's been transfered to HK (asset mgmt group i think) and is pretty much living the life over there, getting paid an exuberant amount of money (considering all his living expenses are paid for).
If there's one thing I've learned over years on the 'street' is that it's all about WHO you know not WHAT you know. I'm sure you've heard that a million times over but its true. Yeah, the front office is tough to get your foot into but if you make the right connections, you'll get there eventually. You're still very young and it seems that you're ambitious enough... there's no doubt you'll get there. :)
What does my job entail? haha good question...sometimes I even get confused on what I do... basically I work in the production side of research. I used to electronically distribute all our research to outside vendors (multex, thompson's financial, reuters, bloomberg, zacks, etc...), clients and internally to our own websites & sales force. But I moved away from that and now I concentrate on managing the team in creating special JPM branded research products/reports. Products like the global equity coverage list, global equity weekly, tech & tel daily/weekly, morning meeting highlights, etc.... in another words, fairly dry stuff. |
