Hey kids,
I have been out of school for hmmm 8 years now. i got reasonable results but the most important thing i could say is that i didn't start grwoing up until i had left the confining prison of a private single sex school. i am still growing up but it hasnt been until the last 2 years that i have had any real idea about the kind of person i am. this is much more important. any how as far as getting into uni goes...
in qld you get a score out of 25 but it is based on a bell curve. that is if you get 1 or 25 then you are in a small group of people (maybe 100 people) who did the best (1) or worst (25). if oyu get 12 for example then you are in a very large group of kids (thousands).
anyhow my bro got a really ty 21. this is v, bad for getting into anything. he started at tafe. two weeks ago had graduated with a b. biotechnology. it took him a couple of years to get there but hell its all possible.
anyhow uni is heaps different and how do you know that you are starting what you wanted to do anyway?
good luck to you all. i know that starting off with a good score makes life a bit (a lot) easier but it aint the end of the world in fact it is just the beginning!!

Word up innominate (esp. the bit about single sex private schools).
BTW: I know someone who started off doing B Arts at La Trobe (one of the crappier unis - no offence) and transfered to Law (LLB) at Melbourne uni (probly one of the most prestigious unis in Aus). |

he he... like insominate I finished school a long time ago. 9 years ago even.
got a score, prolly coz of my 20% attendance rate, but am still happy. well done to all who went well. to all those who didn't get what they wanted, don't panic... it's really not the end of the world. :D |

congrats on ur HSC results. now u have relative freedom for about 3 months :)
and the ppl who didn't get the marks to get into their course. dun worry, it happened 2 me too, miss the cut-off but submitted folio and got in (i guess that only happens to design course ppl). otherwise, just do some Arts degree and transfer after the first yr :)
remember, uni is not 4 everyone and the UAI is just a number, not a reflection of who u r in society |

| Thanks for the comforting, i scored a MASSIVE 57.60 but as someone said before, as long as you can get into the course you want it's ok...., PLUS i still have a chance of getting into uni(barely) but if not ill ship off to tafe... to become a computer nerd hopefully! |

| Cougar: If you wanna do an IT course try to get into RMIT. My cousin started doing a Computer Science degree at Melbourne Uni and ended up transferring to RMIT. He says its like 10 times better. |
