ECLER NUO4 ... has 85% of the MIDI capabilities, same sound quality, XLR outs, MIC in and is a bit more managable in size.

All Xone mixers have XLR outs to my knowledge, including the 3D... look closely at the pics on their website. Has anyone actually heard this mixer yet? Quite suprised to hear that it's the 'same sound quality' as the Nuo4, have you had a chance to play with one yet Mr Soundwerks?

I was at PLASA yesterday, the guy on the Ecler stand seemed more interested in showing me what Traktor could do rather than the actual capability of the Nuo4 unfortunately.
Soundwerks
I noticed the XLR outputs right after I posted about that. Someone mentioned the lack of XLR's on the XONE:3D, so I mentioned how the NUO4 has them...but it looks like they both got em. I found it weird that the XONE:3D wouldnt have them!

As for the sound quality, all NUO mixers (the NUO4/NUO5 especially) have sound quality that is on par with XONE mixers (exceeding the quality of the XONE:62, but more on par with the XONE:92). The XONE:3D seems to be much like the XONE:92, so I guess it would be safe to assume that their sound qualities are similar...hence the similar sound qualities between the NUO series. ;)

the only issue I see with all these mixer/controllers is the fact that in order to use it @ the club, you'd have to hook another mixer up @ the club... ALOT of clubs will not let you do this... I know the owners of the club I DJ at would not let me hook this up and take the installation mixer out. Also what am I supposed to do with my X-One 92 that I already own?

Someone needs to make a controller/soundcard that you can just plug into a channel on a mixer. I REALLY want to start using Ableton in a live situation one of these days...

Take the mixer section away from the 3D and I'd buy this...just leave the controller/soundcard and filters.

That's a great idea. I'm with you, man.

Thats a very wise idea, and I think A&H would make ALOT more money if they did do that, especially if it was universally compatible to other mixers.

Imagine using the Urei with this 3D component for Ableton, hallo heaven.
D@VE!
Tep a seperatly controller would be more something for me too. and a pitchslider fore Ableton would be nice too for people who don't have/use midi. that's my prob now with Ableton, using it as a 3rd deck but would sync great in time with my decks... anybody any time btw om that?

Not sure what you're asking there, D@VE.

Sorry for that.

What i'm asking is:

When i''m DJing for example with CDJ's and i want too start a sample from Ableton, when i start this this will be milliseconds after i want it too start soo is this fixable by midi ?
Soundwerks
if you guys want a seperate controller for Ableton, why not just get a UC-33 or another MIDI controller?

because they feel cheaply made and seem like they would break....and nothing seems to have enough functions yet...They all seem more like gadgets and toys at this stage.

how do you launch clips with the above? you still need to use the mouse. I use a UC-17 and a M-Audio Ozone right now and it's just not enough.

The A&H is going to have great build quality I would assume just like their other products.

I'd be more than happy to pay $1000.00 for a controller that is built as well as one of the A&H mixers. Hell A CDJ1000 costs $1000 and you can only play 1 song on it at a time.

Vlad
I might get a laptop with Ableton next year, but I dont know if Id pay $1000 for a controller, unless it was... the uberness and I knew how to use Ableton very well.

BTW, in which case, Id never have to replace my Xone:62. :)
