Ok I need to know from people WHO OWN the Behringer Truth series of monitors. DO NOT REPLY UNLESS YOU OWN THEM. I don't want info on any other monitor brand. I have a buget of $130-135 and the lowest monitors that seem pro are the Truth series (unpowered. 50Hz to 20Khz)
Thanks. |

well i dont wanna be rude but i wouldnt call this "Monitors" , monitors at all...they'r more like speakers...high freqs thingy , i was concidering getting a pair of these but iv been on few shops heard them on diffrent acoustic threatments asked sound engineers...etc.. they'r CRAP. i wouldnt buoght these , Old Behringer , New behringer , all have the "Lier Technology" , it dosent monitoring , just a stereo speaker if u ask me.
if u want something in that range of price : Alesis , M-Audio MONITORS ONLY. Even Tannoy. |

I looked at those and I can't stress the fact that I have a $130-$135 budget. There is no leeway on that amount. I can barely raise from 130 to 135. I am pinching pennies now that gas prices are going up, and I can't afford things.
If you can find some of the monitors you mentioned for cheaper, then wonderful. I looked and zZounds and found them to be out of reach. And if you really think that the Truths are not worth it. Then I will have to go ahead and wait. My monitors got fried after the surge protector failed during an electrical surge and threw my monitors into a black hole.
I appreciate your help. |

I listened to them. They're really crappy, do not buy them!
Save your money for something better... |

i own the behringer truth b2031p and they are worth it for the money.
i bought them on musicians friend for $160. they are a huge improvement from what i had, just logitech 5.1 surround sound pc speakers.
my philosophy, and what i've been taught at my job (assistant engineer at a huge recording studio) is that anything that sounds better than what you currently have, is definately an upgrade. people often say that monitors under $400 or w/e aren't worht it, but if you have only say headphones, or like hi-fi speakers that are greatly colored, then these are definately an upgrade. however, they obviously arent' the best monitors in the entire world, or else everyone would own a pair for that price. you only need to ask yourself is if they are better than what you have, and for me, these are worth ten fold their cost (and weight! 25 ounds each!).
they seem quite flat to me, perhaps a little too much high end, but nothing to complain about. |

I have the 2031, and the people who say this is crap I believe they never heard it properly before. Indeed, there are much better speakers out there, but look at the price. I am very happy with those speakers for music production. I recommend that you don’t take to much advise here and go listen those speakers out for yourself.
I really like to know why the speakers are crappy, I didn’t read a reason. indeed the high end, but that can be compensate |

| Another one here with the truths, the B2031 aren't bad at all considering the price/quality ratio. But within the same price as the active behringers are the alesis mk thingies, and the rockit rp-8, which are solid speakers. I think you'll be better off have a pair of those two. Either way, don't expect top quality for 'cheap' speakers, because these are the low end monitors. |

You probably mean RP5's, RP8's cost twice as much. |

| I have a set of active Truths and to me, they don't sound good at all...the fatigue the hell out of my ears. Bass is not there and the high frequencies are harsh...even if the tweeters are on the minimum setting. Only plus to me is that they are loud...VERY loud and don't distort. But other than that, I was very dissapointed. Plus, one of my tweeter amps got kacked up out of nowhere and it burned the tweeter also. |
