Hardware Wave: Trance drums

Psyact
Hi, I've been making experimental psytrance for several years and now I'm thinking of going hardware. Yet I'm not totally up-to-date when it comes to hardware equipment. First of all- drums, I use to process acoustic or electronic drums that don't really sound psychedelic with as many Vst plugs as I can to make them sound unrecognizable and worthy to use in my music. However, I think some high quality MODERN drums that are used excessively in nowadays psyscene would make my work much easier. I'm not really interested in buying a drum box that will last a week, but I sure would be interested in some major source of high quality trance sounding drums, especially hats. I don't actually know where the psymakers get them. Is it from samplers like Akai, Orbit, etc? I'd highly appreciate any info you'd share about that point. I also would be grateful if you gave your opinion by comparing Novation/Access/Waldorf/NOrd Lead/Yamaha synths for real innovative&original sounds. I got NOrd Lead 3, but I think there must be a dark synth which would complement it greatly for hard psytrance tracks. And, in general, if you have some free time to talk about these synth or mention more of them for comparing/describing in psytrance context- I would appreciate it to a wonderful degree as it will help me make my mind up about my next purchase. Also, what is the difference in sound between Access Virus C/Indigo and Virus Powercore Plug-in. Thank you very much. Psychoactive
