timecode system users : best hard drive for rane serato / fs2

I am looking for an external hard drive (preferably firewire to use with my fs2 set up) ,something with quick responce
I am really running outta space so any recomendations would be appreciated...

yeah brnad im not too sure of, but bef 7200 rpm or more (is there more yet?) and usb2, firewire and firewire 800....

firewire is so much more stable than anything else

Yeah you could get a "raptor" which is 10,000 RPM but only upto 74Gb, so bit of a pain, but u get over it, just get two :)

This is what I am looking at right now since raptor wont work on a mac . If I get this should I set my latency on fs2 at around 10 ms?

yes,
listen to what they all said. Dont make the mistake of getting an external USB device for IDE hard drives. I got one as a gift and it's still sitting on my shelf - right next to the latest tiesto cd ...(joking, tiesto fans, joking)

So would tractor freeze if my latency setting was below 10 msec ?

na man, not at all. the 10ms is seek time. how long it takes the drive to find the data, one you cue it into tractor, its held in your system ram, not on the HD.
