wow are you ing serious?
What kind of bands are you listening to to make you think that? If anything it's your own ignorance for listening to shiet modern bands like Simple Plan. Get some quality in there, there's a whole lot of "heart" & "soul".
Pink Floyd. |
I can't help it, it just sounds too "human" to me, too faulty. Electronic music is a perfect concept, even though not always executed as such.
Guitars CAN be perfect (mike oldfield - outcast) but it's VERY seldom. |

It has nothing to do with the level of mastering, it has to do with the fact that you're listening to a REAL DRUMMER. Using REAL DRUMS. Manually.
As amazing as it sounds, there are people out there who dislike the quantized, sequence music that we listen to because it's too perfect, there's no room for human emotion, innovation, style or flavour in the product. It sounds exactly the same every time, because it's produced by a machine. Whereas with an actual drummer and band, there are minute differences and changes to the way they play, because no drummer is perfect, and no drummer plays the exact same way twice.
This is a retarded argument. |
+1
a rock concert is by far more enjoyable than any trance event. simply because of the raw energy the band will give off and the live spins they will give you, solos, stage presence, etc.
also, i've heard way more perfectly mastered rock and metal albums than EDM releases. |

sweet one-sided perspectives from everbody!
yarrrrr rock music is bettar because real humans are making the noise
yarrrrr trance is bettar because because it is more perfectly mastered
yarrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!:wtf:
the techniques used by both sides are conducive to their respective styles, so what is with all this better/worse crap. All these conversations always leave out the whole personal preference portion and everybody acts like they are the the truth and everybody else is wrong in the way they think about music, over and over we argue the same stupid points insisting that a single perspective is the right one. Then we have this dick measuring contest comparing music preferences and collections to see who's opinion has the most authority, somebody quotes some silly thing some big name hot shot said, and round and round it goes.
Will we ever get over it? |

Perfect Guitar - Joe Satriani, and it's all him. |

But yes, I agree. Rock isn't PURE like electronic. If you like it that way, sure. There's just too much of that cheap feeling over it, like there was really no effort put into it.
And don't complain, that's what it sounds like to my un-rocky ears. |
This made me laugh. And I cried a little inside too. |

Personally, I feel that the rock of today is complete crap.
I mean, sure, we have some solid bands out there....but for the most part I have no desire to delve into the rock scene.
As a former "rocker", I have to say that it's all gone to hell.
Hopefully some band will come out of the bushes and revitalize whatever passion was lost within the music :wtf: |

To me, the real good rock died when Bush stopped making music. |
