''Speaking'' synths....?

How do you make those kind of synths that sound like someone speaking(but not saying anything, just making sounds with his mouth). Other than this characteristic it sound like saw....ill post a sample later.
It was used by infected mushrooma couple of time......dynamo too if you know what it is... |

Hey. Thats called a formant filter. There are also several other names to look for, such as comb filter, voweler and talk box. Essentially the filter 'combs' a particular sound cutting out unnneeded freuencies and leaving behind ones that make it sound like a vowel does from a human voice. To get it talking can be quite tricky. My success with them hasnt been all too great but I've heard some great uses of it in songs from Rob Papen and of course, Sasha - Xpander.

| Try KarmaFX Synth . It has a formant preset that sounds exactly like that Shpongle/Infected sound. |
