WOW!
What a great show. I've never seen a Cirque' show before and much to my delight I must say that everyones fantastic reviews were true. The acrobatics, the originality, the costumes, the theatre, admittedly I caught myself saying "wow" more then once during the show.
Unfortunatly the last show in Toronto was on Sunday, did anyone else have a chance to go?

That's the problem, once you've seen one, the novelty wears off, and also you've probably raised the bar too high from the last one. |

I'm not so sure - I went with Jspot and he's seen Allegria as well, and liked this one just as much. As long as they keep it fresh and new every year, I highly doubt the novelty would just wear off. |

A co-worker of mine went to see it last week and absolutely RAVED about it!! I wanted to go see it, but my lazy ass couldn't get around to buying tickets. :(
Apparently they had some nice paraphernalia at the gift shop too... |

Graham & I went to it on the 30th. Nice show, but with this new Italian director/ producer, the show had a different 'feel' to it (more upbeat than other shows). I had read many reviews about it, so nothing was a surprise. I missed the fantastic makeup, and I felt the acts were not as amazing & spectacular as all the other shows- this one felt a like a 'circus'. Also, not one song from this show won my heart. Our favorite part had to be the 2 'little people', esp. the woman. Her voice was like a bubble- Graham & I wanted to take them home and keep them, they were so cute!!!
Honestly, probably the least favorite of the 4 shows I've seen. Not bad, but I'd recommend another show of theirs over it any day. |

I saw it, too. This is the 3rd Cirque show i've seen, and I'd have to say, I am not at all less impressed by it than I was at first. I'm amazed at the different things that people can do. I'd have to agree with Nat, tho, that this was my least favourite... mostly because there was actual talking... in real languages. As far as I know, all the other Cirque shows only speak "Cirque" a made up language. I found with this, I spent more time trying to understand what they were saying rather than just watching the spectacle.
What I loved about Corteo:
1. The stage. i loved how it was almost a runway through the tent. :)
2. The "little people". I loved it when the woman was wearing a big helium balloon and was bouncing out into the audience!
3. The guy with the ladder!
4. The guy who WHISTLED. He whistled BACH! It was amazing!
5. The clowns at the beginning!
6. The tightrope walker. She walked up a 45º incline!!! On a tightrope!
I saw it over a month ago, so this is all that I remember right now. I love Cirque! :D |

I keep planning to go, but then cancelling due to work/school/etc
It's a must see for everyone. Any of their shows is totally worthwhile.
Go to the Cirque du Soleil site and watch the show trailers. Give me goosebumps. Verakai and Alegria are my favs :D |
