sound on sound has a really nice series of articles called "synth secrets" I found that to be very helpful.
The manual for the nord lead is freely downloadable and also includes a chapter on general synth programming, good read.
But really you never can learn all there is to know, there is always more stuff to figure out.
Knowing DSP or elecricity physics would also be helpful, the best way to understand any given synth is to be the person that built the thing. |

Download the synth programing guide from access (virus) website, it's pretty good stuff. Free as well, It comes free as a book with the virus synth purchase..

| You might want to try "Power Tools for Synthesizer Programming" by Jim Aikin. The above poster is also right about soundonsound's synth secrets articles. |

Samplecraze has lots of nice tutorials for the more basic stuff, divided into sections for easy digestion.
Noise Scultpure has some more advanced stuff (subtractive synthesis, FM, etc.)
