girls like that are obnoxious and the best thing you can do is totally ignore them and not even give them a first glance...
and whatever she does, your girlfriend SHOULD NOT start hanging all over you and "claiming you"...that will only let the sluts know that she feels threatened. if anything, she should say to one of them, "oh my god, i LOVE your shoes! those are so cute"

I think it's suffice to say that the attitude of a 20 year old female differs slightly from that of a 28 year old fembot (I don't know how old your wife is, I'm just going by your age..)
