I've never had Winamp5 crash on me ever, and the resource thing doesn't matter when you've got 2GB RAM :) |

Winamp 5+ is developed by people from AOL ... not from the original guys that started Winamp ... and we all know AOL blows monkey chunks :) |
Congratulations on fixing Dan's computer for him!

I can't fix broken hard drives, but then again, I also don't diagnose computer problems before I troubleshoot them.

Are you writing a ing book? Press record now, Einstein:
I'm from Buffalo, which isn't too much further from TO than Cambridge. I also lived in Toronto a few years ago, and I'll bet both of your comptuer skills that I have a lot more friends in that city than you do. Additionally, I could name quite a few TAs who have been to Buffalo, but they probably shouldn't go, since they're from Canada, right?

these threads are so predictable.
RJ says, upgrade, then 20 people say how they are stuck in the middle ages and being proud how they haven't upgraded in years.
funny. |

I used the new version of Winamp, but nothing wrong w/ liking an older product - it gets the job done and much to the satisfaction of it's user apparently too.
I myself use an OLD version of ACDSee 2.43 for picture viewing when MANY MANY newer versions have come out. But honestly, these new versions just don't work as well for me (dont enjoy the interface differences and functionality of it compared to my present version). I simply enjoy my version 2.43. So do these ppl love their older Winamps. :)
Nothing wrong with being very happy to continue using a prog that works for you. No need to try to influence anyone to upgrade their if the they got works (in their individual cases).
Not that you directly implied anything was wrong - it was just a tone I was _possibly_ sensing. |

Winamp is by far the most superior media player for online radio, video, burning CDs, etc.
Nearly all online radio stations recommend you use Winamp 5.1.

Time to install winamp and re-install it - take care of business! :D
