Yah, seeing this one in the weekend:D:D I can't wait! It sure looks like Peter Jackson managed to capture the feeling from the book. It's 5 or 6 years since I read it, too bad I didn't have time to read it again before the premiere. I can't remeber too much of it..
Lol @ Neo.. Funny to see that you read the book before I even was born:p:toothless |

lol @ Neo :stongue:
Hey don't go dissin Hugo Weaving (Agent smith :) ). He's a good actor - and better than alot of Hollywood actors they could have cast.
But I haven't seen the movie yet (comes out on 26th in Aus), so I guess I can't really talk. |

yeah i just saw it in the theatre...it was an awesum movie...yeah, DONT watch it on ur comp, sum movies are just meant to be seen on a big screen...it was way better than i expected...its one of my fave movies...the theme especially, that of the struggle between good and evil, and all the demons and stuff made it pretty damn nice...just like reading a really good story book when i was a kid....
BUT
i haven't read the book, only heard about it...the movie ended kinda abruptly for me, i expected him to go all the way and destroy the ring...is that what happens in the book?
also, i heard a reporter on TV say that it was "the first of a trilogy"...wow..can't wait for the next ones

yes it is part of a trilogy,
they knew this one was going to be successful, so they have already filmed almost all of the other two movies. They kinda filmed them all at once I think.
the next one will be released next christmas, and the next one the following christmas I think. |

Well, i just came back from watching the movie, i won't bother commenting on the plot, as most of you have already read the book, let's just say the plot was accurate but not elaborative enough. the effects *drools* very nice ;). Not one boring moment in the movie, but some important details were left out... |
lol, 3hrs not elaborate enough?? ;)
Honestly they did a great job, this movie looked amazing and it didn't feel like 3hrs... Its difficult to translate those books onto film, its impossible to get all the details of a book, then we'd be looking at say 5hr films, and probably 10 of them :D
I have no problems with a long movie, it could have been 5hrs for all I care as long as its a good movie, and this definately was...
I find too many movies are cutting out so many scenes to get that 1 1/2 hr mark to make the execs happy. I think some of the best films I've ever seen have been 2 + hrs, and the frequency of long films is hopefully going to increase....
Great movie, I can't wait to see the next one! |

| I have to agree, it is an AWESOME movie. I just cought it today, and boy, I am ready to go watch it again. Way cool effects, excellent soundtrack and gripping plot. But as someone mentioned, they missed out certain parts of the book, what a shame. The balrog was way cool, but he kinda reminds me of Diablo =) hehheh. The Naz'Gul could sure improve on their sword techniques though, Aragorn beat the crap out of them all by himself. And Legolas is one cool dude, he stabs an orc in the eye and then fires it into the next orc. WOW. Not to mention, I almost cried along with the hobbits after Gandalf falls. I wish though, there could be larger, longer and gory battle scenes. Magical battles between Gandalf and Saruman would also be cool. And in fantasy shows like these, they tend to neglect the poor dwarves (poor Dimli) =P. Otherwise......GO WATCH THE DAMN SHOW PEOPLE!! You won't regret it, hehz. |

holy fock... incredible :eyes:
i just saw it last night, brilliant! definetly one of the best movies i've seen! imo, it was an excellent interpretation of the book, and the 3 hours just flew by. some of the scenes were exactly how i imagined them when i was reading the books. visually stunning, and the story, obviously 11/10.
10x tolkien and jackson, lol
:D
ps. someone's going to make a fortune on book sales heheh... |
