Creating tracks-getting started?

I am new to the forums, in fact, this is my first post/thread. I hope that this is in the right section, but if it is not, I ask the admin to please delete or move this thread. I have been a fan of electronica(trance mainly) for about 2 years now, and have recently been intrested in creating my own tracks. My question is, are there any online guides to getting started(that contain components, guides, etc.)? And if not, where might I want to look? I reall appreciate the posts guys, happy raving.
