in a computer controlled world why would you go recording with something else...

if you have a decent computer it's the easiest way...quality wise not comparable with a studio but will get the job done

minidisc is fine, as are cd recorders- never had any problems using both myself.
Both can be bought quite cheaply now!

the Phillips 20Gb mp3 player lets u record through line in @ 192, so its no bad 4 recordin!

What if you are playing out live and want to record yourself? Who wants to lug a laptop to the gig if you don't have to :)

The problem with MiniDisc is the time constraint, a portable MP3 player with recording capabilities makes more sense.

A minidisc could work just fine since you can now buy a 1GB minidisc for 8 bucks at bestbuy

I think minidisc is the way to go.

there are more things to worry about when you play live than recording yourself, and if you have to...having a laptop is not that big of a deal

and i am talking from experience

If you have a small, portable player, you just plug it in and forget about it. What's the big issue there?

Hey that IS cool. I didn't know they had anything over 70 minutes of capacity.
And they have a player/recorder for $79, is that good enough?

Can you get the audio off the player in better than real-time?
