im thinking of investing in brand new monitors! which monitors do you guys think gives the best gaming and movie experience while providing that important music/mixing experience.

im looking at the m-audio bx5a and bx8a, and event tr5/6/8

Gaming / watching movies are often best enjoyed when haveing 4/5/6/7.1 surround, while mixing nomrally takes place on a set of high quality stereo monitors.
There's a difference in the way they sound. Of course, you get a very rich and good sound from the monitors alone, but I wouldn't recommend monitors only for movies/gaming.

I had a 5.1 surround set before, and I miss watching movies with it. Playing Splinter Cell 3 got boring without surround. So, think through your purchase thurouglhy.

If you're VERY serious about music production, buy a set of monitors. If not, buy a good surround system. Logitech has a couple of nice ones.

i own the event tr6 monitors...you own monitors for Accuracy in sound. completely different purpose to high-fi systems...that being said, i've watched movies using them and they do sound great.

monitors are giving sound accurate and hi-fi is giving sound nicely

You have to ask yourself weather you want entertainment or quality.
Are you serious about producing? You don't need monitors elsewise.
