Serato Scratch Live questions

I am strongly considering buying Serato Scratch Live soon but I have a few questions about it before I buy it:

1. Is the sound quality as good as using CDJ's for 320kbps mp3s and wavs?

2. Is there a new version coming out in the next few months that I would want to wait for rather than buying it now?

3. What's the best price you've seen for it? I've seen that Agiprodj has it for $475 shipped, but I was wondering if anyone else has seen it for cheaper. I am also considering pricematching it at Guitar Center but to get it to an equivalent price it would have to be a lot cheaper as NY sales tax adds about $40.

I'm probably going to buy it in the next week or two if I do decide to get it.

I have it....

1. I don't have CDDJs so I can't compare, but the 320 KBPS sound fine in my bedroom setup... never played out in a large venue though.

2. Upgrades are FREE (unlike FS). Just go to www.scratchlive.net/forums and ask away... you will see the download section there.

3. I bought mine from a TA (works for a distributor... brand new and legit). PM me and I'll try to hook you up with him. He hooked me up (and many other TAs).

For question 2 I was refering to a new hardware upgrade such as USB2.0 support or something like that.

not gonna happen, USB2.0 has the exact same bandwidth as USB 1.0 and 1.1. only difference is better compression. that is why NO professional audio products are USB2.0, it really doesnt matter. the only logical hardware upgrade would be to firewire 400 or 800, but i doubt they will do that any time soon, nor do they need to. there is truly ZERO latency in serato, and as far as sound quality goes, if you will be using 320kbps mp3s, you will never hear a difference from CDs.

go ahead and buy it man, you will not regret it. blows FS2 out of the water IMO.
