Okay people some of you may have already seen this but for all those who havent here is an online synth comparison test featuring samples from 46 different synths such as Virus to a Nord, Juno's and also stuff like Subtractor and Logic's ES1.
This is a blind comparison
Unfortunately the website is in German but that should stop you doing the test. I have posted a link to a translator site also just incase you want to read the sites comments

yeah this is interesting, too bad they picked such a simple sound, with such sounds the difference between good and bad synths is hardly noticable. |

Still I have to commend the diversity and sheer volume of synths used in the test. |

Pretty easy to tell which is hardware and which isn't. The only ones that where difficult where the ES1 samples.. quit an amazing softsynth, that is. |
