Best Plugins to use vocals in track ?

Hey everybody,

I have been asked to make a remix of a track which uses vocals. My problem is that i've actually never included vocals into any of my tracks.

I thought , how hard could it be ? ... well ... pretty damn hard, i can't seem to get the vocals to sound right in the mix, they either sound too thin when using some effects on it or too unclear when using dry.

Are there any tips or rules to use when you want ot incorporate female vocals into your track ?

To name but a few :
Which reverb plugin is best for vocals ?
Which compressor plugin ?
What EQ settings ?

Any serious tips are welcome and appreciated...

Childish behaviour makes me laugh :)

Honestly, not everyone might have as much time on their hands as you to figure everything out for you...

depends on what type of vocals you have.. are they unprocessed? i'd go for any waves plugin like the c1 compressor for dynamics control. eq settings depends very much on the rest of your mix and the type of sounds you have chosen to accompany the vocals. to get a nice upfront vocal sound while still using a lot of reverb (typical for trance), try using a long reverb with a pre-delay of 70ms and more to keep its presence and not get the typical washed out sound. also, any decent delay plugin usually has some good vocal presets. u should try them out first :)

good luck.
