i wonder how i detune the sawtooths and how many i need, to make a ordinary trance synth...a tutorial would be great ...or if you have a link to a site that has one it would be great too
I use reason 3.0:)

yeah i know i can use the 16sawtooth's ..but i wanna try make it myself on the subtractor ...people say it sounds better on it

I don't mean you use the sawtoot*16 on malstrom
just the characters of the saws on malstrom and subtractor are different

what I do is
- put in 3 or 4 subtractors set them to saw, detune them and play with settings (filters, lfos...also set the envelope right)
- then I put in 1 malstrom with 1 saw and cut all it's frequencies which are under let's say 7khz to leave only the highest end
- combine all this, and automate filter on rotary 1 knob...

play your Rank 1 Airwave tune and play with the filter :P guess what ? you've got your first supersaw

Hmm.. using sawtooths to make trancy sounds. How novel, why didn't I think of that...:toothless

ok i will try that :) ...but how do i detune it? i have no idea...thats wut im asking about :)

aha
on subtractor use CENTS
setup one oscillator to +15 cents for example
and second -10
that sounds quite good to me, if you want, you can use any detuning cents you like, or you can also connect it to a Unison device which makes even more detunings
