i find it hard to belive how good and faultless a lot of dj's mixes are...

i struggle to get studio quality mixes when playing live. at least one track goes off during two hours... but at home my mix discs sound as crisp as a commercial mix compilation.

what are the chances that a lot of dj's just 'act' out their mixing while a hidden prerecorded disc is playing?

ps. this aint trying to ruffle anyones feathers. im just curious:)

on bigger soundsystems its harder to hear mistakes anyway proffesional djs do make plenty of mistakes its just that u dont hear most of them

i take it these "mix discs" dont include any Tiesto sets :haha:

i guess a quicker mix doesnt show up as much... but i always notice when my mixes dont sound 'perfect' on a big system. i have played on a 30k rig in a 2500 capacity club. i been mixing for longer than ferry corsten but i still dont think my mixes sound great out live. his do tho... its probably just me noticing my own mistakes too much.

yes, the booming soundsystem of a club, does spare alot of dj's blushes

thats probably cose ur the one doing the mixing ur listening for the mistakes and correcting if need be the people on the dance floor more than likely wont be aware of ur mistakes

The CD is mastered.

Theres a video going around of the event and his first mix is an all time shocker. Listen to the CD, not so.

i might have guessed!

that cd is truly a work of art. not one non standout track!

fav: orbital velocity; the last voyage! never seen this for sale anywhere:(

thats shattered my respect a bit for the cd now.

I believe the t/l is the same, the set is basically the same. Just some of the mistakes have been fixed up (or at least the first mix)

the tiesto cd was re recorded in the studio of course, i couple of tracks are in different positions compared to the live set as well, its still a great cd though :)

When I saw Oakenfold spin at Space 3/9/04 I swear I saw him getting a drink or chatting up some girls or something when I heard the next song queuing up. But he was back fast enough to not really have any hard evidence ;)
