Review: Mylo @ State Lounge [Sept.18.05]

State Lounge is a swanky venue. Not uberswank (i.e. dress code), but enough swank to make the night interesting (the fabric hand towels in the bathroom came in very handy!). The flexing and bouncing floor put a extra "bam!" in my dance moves - rj approved floor! The only thing that could have improved the venue is a more tuned sound system (maybe a Westfalia sized bass-bin?).

Kenny Glasgow opened up with a whole bunch of electro sounds with a wee-bit of the techy-style reminiscent of his Tubro retail CD. Hats off to Kenny!

Mylo played some great tunes. I went expecting good music and nothing technical - so I left a happy camper. All of his album tracks were played plus a few others to mix it up. There was one track with a guy singing/yelling the lyrics that was phenominal - rj approved tune.

Scream-and-shouts to the baboons who love tunes.

No, although a good tune, that wasn't the one.

The one sounded like it could have been a punk rock song. The male vocalist sings "hey, hey, hey, hey" and then screams something, each word in time with the tune.

Have a safe trip home.

Hard-Fi - Hard to Beat (Axwell Remix)

Just a guess anyways. Huge song atm. Punky, vocalist sounds a bit like the Smashmouth lead singer.

I'm a huge fan of Mylo's production, but he just can't mix...

Freeform Five - No More Conversations (Mylo Remix)
Soulwax - Another Excuse

My favorite songs of the night.. left early though.

Good night, good to be back and partying in TO :D

My only complaints were the drinks. They were overpriced contained little alcohol :( I'd rather they charge a higher cover and actually put TEH BOOZE in the drinks!!

State Theatre is a really nice venue. Loved the couches and the silk screens along the back.

Mylo played good tunes.

----good producers should stay in the studio...

----good djs should stay in the dj booth

if you happen to be good at both, good on ya... but otherwise stick to what you do best.

As they say... "dont quit your day job"

:)
