...but, snowboarding to thanksgiving? when is thanksgiving? isnt it in november? is there already snow in november? (sorry for this silly questions)

want to go to vermont this winter too for my first snowboard experiences ;) maybe at thanksgiving....

Im not sure if late November is really snowboarding season, but check out Stratton @ Stratton.com if you end up going later in the winter - its a very snowboard-friendly resort, and is actually where it was invented.

Yeah I would agree that your timing is probably not the best but Stratton is a good choice. So is Killington. Two very choice resorts that are boarder friendly. Also they both get great snow there, and the runs are nicely sized to carv up at one's preference. Also both mountain's are quite big soo you will have a large selection of runs to hit up.

Just remember these are both very good places to go to, and you will end up paying more to go there than you would if for instance you ended up staying in NY and went to Butternut or Jimminy Peak.

Have fun on your trip and I hope I have helped out.

all 4 of them should have snow at least a month or more come thanksgiving and they are all located in different places and you should be able to hit anyone of them

When I went boarding at Killington, I found that it wasn't all that fun. There were too many blue mogul runs, and the trails were way too long if u make a wrong turn :p

how do you know whats a right and wrong turn when you are ripping up the mountain? who cares LOLS JUST RIDE! the longer the trail the more you get to rip up and explore. isn't that what snowboarding is about? riding terrain and seeing whats on the mountain. the longer the run the better....

If you wanna consider the snurfer the first snowboard, then it was invented by Sherman Poppen in 1965 as a means to surf the white winter in the Rockies... In 1970 Dimitrije Milovitch (founder of Winterstick), who was from upstate NY started to develop snowbards based upon short surfboard design... neither of these guys had anything to do w/ Stratton.

As far as late Nov. not being snowboarding season....???
If there is snow to ride on, it's snowboarding season. Simple as that.
