Why would he play 2 NYEs in NYC in a row? That's just kind of dumb on his part. He should try to get more exposure other than just in NYC, and play here on a date other than NYE, preferably before.

We should also have more variety in NYC for New Year's. Why the hell can't we get good parties to choose from so that the one good one isn't so ing packed? Last year was just PvD and it was so crowded it half ruined the experience. (I didn't consider Yahel to be huge last year). I mean, what did Spirit and Crobar do last year?

BTW, anyone know what's been confirmed for NYE. I heard Infected Mushroom was going to be here, but anything else? Other cities are confirming gigs all over the place (LA, Las Vegas).

Settle down man. I was just saying it would be cool to get him since he did a great job last year. As a listener, I could care less about what other countries are doing on NYE and that it might ruin Jons exposure, no offense to him. But I am trying to have a good time on NYE so it would be sick if he came again.

Sorry, wasn't trying to sound wound up or pissed or anything, but I would like to have a NYE experience different from last year's. That was an amazing performance and I fear it won't repeat to everyone's expectations much like a lot of other DJ's I've seen multiple times. You can't expect magic every time, even if every factor is identical. I want to see Jon O'bir again, just not at New Year's. I'd rather give a different DJ a chance to wow us on that same night. I mean, will it mean the same to you if he drops Xpander at the stroke of midnight again?

This is also why I'm going to PvD's Roxy gig not expecting magic. Just because he's played amazing sets at Roxy before doesn't mean it's going to happen every time. If it does, all the better, because my expectations were far surpassed.

I kind of got this attitude from listening to tons of Phish in high school and college. I know a lot of people aren't fans of them, but if there's one thing that I learned is that good musicians have to experiment. Sometimes they fall flat and on the other nights it's magical. That's why people toured with them for the entire tour, so they wouldn't miss any of the amazing gigs, but knowing that they would have to endure mediocrity a lot of times. That's why I try to catch as many parties that my favorite DJs play, but I don't want them to all be the same.

I hear ya. I know AvB would drop some sick ass at the stroke of 12. Would be hella sweet if he was our NYE gig. :D
