got the chance to have a feel of one at my local panasonic shop. They feel almost exactly like turntables. Only thing I didnt like was the light pitch shifter.
Cosmic Realm
yeah, i like that it plays just like a normal Turntable...
so i think ill add it as my 4th :p

I think these are the way forward. If I had the money I would buy a pair.

Do some googling and you will find that they sound very digital in scratching when the master tempo is enabled, really really bad.

But i dont do much scratching, if it had a tighter pitch i would buy one.

I wouldnt scratch on em. Id use my decks for that. Besides ive not seen any scratch cds around and I play only trance. I dont play hiphop yet although I plan to at some point :) (I listen to rap/hiphop as much as trance just prefer to mix trance)

Aint they as accurate as SL's?

CDJ 1000 is a much much better investment.

The pitch slider on the SL-DZ1200 is much looser then on the CDJ-1000 or on a normal turntable like the Technics 1210, some say its as slippery as ice.

But they do look the business, daang.

Yeah I had a pair of the Tech's and ended up selling them and picking up a pair of cdj1000mk2's. The Tech's had a great idea behind them but the numerous problems led most people and clubs to shy away from them. I don't really scratch so the pitch lock issue wasnt a problem for me. However like most people said the platter and the pitch slider are way too loose.

I wasnt able to do anything about the platter looseness but do have a fix for those with this deck and dont like the feel of the pitch slider:

The problem isnt really with the slider itself but the material used on the underbody of the knob. If you pull the pitch knob off the deck you will see a thin piece of plastic under it. In contrast Technics regular vinyl decks use a small piece of felt instead which gives the slider more resistance. So just get some felt, cut a small piece, and slap it on.

I have had no 'hands on' experience with theses decks personally, but have heard nothing but bad reports about them. Seen james holden try to use them on saturday night past, from what i seen and heard, he couldn't get to grips with them at all, fluffing about 5-6 mixes in the process.
