Nobody wants to hear about regular natural disasters anymore. All you see on TV is "supervolcano" this and "megatsunami" that. No shows on the Discovery channel are actually educational anymore. I watched this one program where it predicted what animals will evolve to look like in a gazillion years or something. I swear I saw a unicorn and something that looked like a beast I made in Monster Rancher 2.

This was a good show, but I know what you mean they often go over the top to make science entertaining. They should have a blinking disclaimer at the bottom of the screen "dramatization for ppl with short attention spans like you". I guess I don't have a big problem with it because it gets me interested and then I'll follow it up with web research or get a book on the topic. The fault lies with ppl who regard these shows as serious educational endevours that they use to impress their friends at parties with the little tid bits of knowledge they gleened.

PBS rocks.

It's like Discovery Channel with no Jay Ingram or commercials. Only downside is when they start asking for money and offering stupid "gifts" in return.
