You said this in the NYC forum. There were lots of people, myself included, who felt it was an uninspired set. Worst I've seen him this year in 4 trips out. I heard he killed when he flew down to Space immediately following the set, though. Too bad he didn't stick in NYC that night to play an afterparty to redeem himself.
BTW, I didn't hate TPOD2 as much as everyone else. I've only listened to it once or twice, though. Even though some of the tracks were older, I don't mind. I mean Desyn Masiello's Balance 008 has Halcyon + On + On, and it's what, 10 years old? I was really grateful when Sasha dropped it at Crobar this spring because I thought the time had passed to hear it in a club. Age isn't always a bad thing. |

It's not brain surgery. You pick up a cd and one of three things happens:
1.) You listen to it and tell right away it is uninspired and does nothing for you. Destined for the coaster collection.
2.) Captures some of your interest, but will require more listening to determine it's ultimate value.
3.) You tell right away it's an amazing cd and destined for the classics shelf.
TPOD2 falls under scenario uno. |

| I think people are spoiled by livesets nowadays, if sets like Jahre Maximal and some others hadn't been released people would be all over PoD2 like they were when Jahre first came out. |

I've heard him say similar before, including before Reflections, and it never materialized.
Putting out an album of tracks harder and more driving than Out There mashed with Avenue would be smart and creative, but it won't sell, and sadly that's on Paul's mind these days, so far as I can tell. |

My opinion [of this album] isn't affected by what anyone on this site says, or anyone on any site, period. I'm just upset that I actually took time out of my life for music that completely fails to meet the standards of what I'd expect from PvD. On the bright side, at least I didn't shell out $22 for it. Thank God for the "listen-first" turn that online-retailers have taken. |

I'm sure it's well mixed and done in a professional manner, but considering all the tracks that were getting mentioned beforehand and all the guff about having to dig deep to find the tunes for TPOD2, the final tracklist is a great disapointment :( |

TPOD2... Hmm... i dont think it was bad at all...i liked the mixing.
But I wanted a more feeling of TPOD1 in it, and not sumthing so different.
I heard most of the tracks before.....so i guess thats y it wasnt as special. |

I agree 100% with this.
And for the person who mentioned that it is because of the availability of livesets that this CD isn't that good - that's bull - I hold PvD in VERY high regard as a DJ and I still love TPOD1 to death - this despite having tons of PvD sets pre-TPOD1 and seeing him live quite a few times. This CD is a major disappointment - it is not representative of his talents - at least to my ears. |

I have to disagree.....I like the mix. It is deffinately not as good as POD 1, but this one is def. Good in my oppinion. I like CD2 more. |
