| I have a Computer Networking & Technical Support diploma and 2 yrs of Computer Programming, but here I sit in a call center answering phones......guess I am still using computers |

I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Commerce in IT Management with a Minor in eBusiness studies, although my interests still lie in Graphic Design. Currently I'm working as a Resource Officer supervising operations at a Call Centre for TD Bank, as well as some small project work and training on the side. I'm hoping to go back to school shortly either to pursue studies in Graphic Design, or to attain my Master's degree in Business Admin.

| I've been working for the past 2 1/2 years as an Assistant Sound Editor, and I went to film school (Media Arts at Sheridan) so i guess you can say I'm working in my field! Although I also have a university degree in Biology with a minor in Philosophy, so I'm -not- working in my field... all at the same time. :D |

| Graduated from Humber in Travel & Tourism and working for a Travel Wholesale company. Not too bad of a job but probably go back to Univ. for Marketing and use the two. |

| finished at mac with a degree in sociology. plans changed from teachers' college. took a year off. went back for my nursing and now doing that. going back in Nov for my Operating Room Certification. WOOT!! i can't wait!! :D |

I guess you can say I've worked in my field of study for a while, and i've decided to branch off into something similar but not exactly...
Now I'm exactly where I want to be. Just don't know which position to endeavour... |

If I wasnt going through for my CA or CGA, I'd want to be in this field... honestly I even wonder now and then what it'd have been like if id chosen to do that instead of accounting....

although i did mech eng and am working as a project engineer. and although the work i do is what i saw myself doing as an eng, this is rarely the case. a lot of eng friends that are working are doing nothing close to what you expect they would be doing while in school even though they have jobs as engineers - lots of paper pushing.
its so true what Jon Jon said, "learning is about learning"
university does not teach practical know-how, and i wasnt the keenest of pupils, so now theres a ton of trivial things i do at work that i gotta learn and figure out daily. its kind of brutal but something as simple as how to fold a 36"x48" drawing, there is a special way to do it and i didnt know.
but what uni does do is teach you to learn, how to pool resources. and in the end learning is what any job (and life) comes down to. we arent expected to know everything out of uni. in the end, experience is the best teacher. no matter what it is, we just gotta dive in head first and figure it out.
lakeport isnt bad, but by the same token it isnt the greatest. its just a good beer at a good price. personally i like steamwhistle but they are expensive. |
