dude i feel you. i LOVE LOVE drum n bass/jungle. when i first started spinning, all my local dj friends were drum n bass dj's. so drum n bass was the first music i started practicing with. once i get cdj's, i will be playin wit some drum n bass for fun. i cant afford to buy vinyl from any other genres. haha

HISTORY - Americas Largest Drum ‘n’ Bass event

The first History was held on Sunday October 10th 2004 (Columbus Day weekend) at The World Famous Century Club. Grapevinez vision behind this event was to unify the Stateside Drum And Bass scene by having, for the first time ever, 4 arenas of drum and bass in a high-class venue that will allow 18+ patrons who would normally not be exposed to establishments of this caliber. Other event directors were invited to host their brand in each one of the four arenas. History would also for the first time capture all the styles of drum and bass under the same roof. United Drum and Bass, who brought forward their well-branded event, Bluebeat, hosted the sexy soulful side of this musical genre. The harder homegrown LA style was represented by Machete Media who hosted, The Kings of LA arena. Los Angeles’ premier and longest running weekly Respect hosted by the infamous Junglist Platoon were the hosts for the V.I.P area, which was 21+. The Main arena presented by Grapevinez featured UK headliners and A-list American drum and bass DJ’s and MC’s. The first History attracted over 1,200 patrons. History was truly made on a very special Sunday and is now regarded as the drum and bass event of 2004.

On Sunday Oct 9th 2005 (Columbus Day Weekend) Grapevinez returns with HISTORY - America's Annual Drum and Bass Gathering.

HISTORY - The Next Chapter

I love DnB but the problem with going to DnB events is the almost always have MCs which I loath. I would always leave after the opener because they never seemed to have MCs.

I'll definately be checking out pendulum in SF! I started messing with DnB this summer and to me, its like playing video games or something. even though the bpm is like 130 or something, it feels like it's 160 cuz there is so much going on....

Its like jumping across platforms and trying not to fall down in a video or beating a big boss or something!

If you guys like DnB you should check out Respect on Thursdays in Hollywood. It's a bangin little club that has a nice inside little area and an upstairs outside patio that's pretty big as well. $10 on regular nights and $15 when they have some of the bigger names in. I think it goes til around 2:00-2:30ish.
