My roomate is jabbering on about God's name being (pronunciation) yow-eh or ya-way. What the hell is he talking about?

:rolleyes: I doubt if there was a god he would name himself. It may just be the word for God in another language.

Nope, it's legitimate. It's the Hebrew word for "THE LORD" (as it appears in English translations) used throughout the Bible:
