recording problems with soundforge?

i've been using soundforge for a while now and its what i use to make all my mixes. recently i made a mix and some people have told me they have a problem hearing it well in on their computer. others have told me it's fine. all the levels have checked out with no clipping or even showing in the red. im using a new soundforge(7)on a pentium 3. this is not the computer i usually make my mixes on but it has the same inards as the one i do use. could the soundcard be the problem?this is the mix:

| cut out bits from diff tracks, say like 30 secs of 5 tracks. put em all one after the other in a small wav file and ill download it and tell u if the recording is ok. just that file is almost 100mb! :) |

| lol yeah sorry. you have to have a fast connection to dl it. ill try to cut it up if i get a chance but in the meantime if someone has a fast connection and could listen to it id be grateful |

I opened it in Soundforge and winamp. I killed the low end on my eq. Bass and mid still distorts even tho in soundforge it doesn't clip that much. My thoughts are your recording level or line-in volume in windows is set to hight or the eq on your mixer is distoring the sound. Or the volume from your mixer is to high. I've used SF to record some sets and have had the same probs.
What is your current setup?
I'm thinking the recording level or line-in volume is the prob, it will distort the sound without cliping in SF |

| im going with the line in theory. my mixer has never done that to me before and i cant remember if i checked my line in before i recorded. ill look into it and let you know.funny cuz it sounds great in my car. but i have custom speakers amp etc. someone's gotta burn this baby and play it in their car system and let me know how it sounds!(thats probably asking for to much:p )but its a great mix i swear!lol |

| LOL well you did ask for someone to play it in their car (i have an mp3 deck in my car) so i did. Post me like a 10-15 min mix with your new audio settings, i'd be glad to listen |
