My assumption would be beacuse most of Japan is probably a concrete jungle....And they're most likely not known for their beaches.
That ski hill is a waste of money. No serious, or even intermediate skier is going to use that facility. |

| dudes....i would so hit that up in the summer time....ive seen a special on it too just like dan.....they'll throw in a few rails, a couple jumps, i even saw them build a pretty sweet quarterpipe at the bottom of it. something like that would be a blast to go to when it's 80+ degrees outside. |

The ones that can't afford to go to Vermont for a week in August will. They'll just hop in their car and an hour later be skiing.
Admit it, if you had the opportunity to go skiing to a place an hour away for half a bill or so per day during the the 30s temperature/humidity hell we had last month you'd run to your car in your jammies. |

basicLLY THEY would have to build these types of "luxuries" b/c they wouldn't have the space to make it anywhere and their water is not that glorious! They would need to build an indoor ski hill b/c the only hills they got are mountains covered in trees which only get a bit of snow (like 4 times a season it snows).
So they have to build if they truly want it and why not - they got everything else over there!
