so now im looking into getting a good gun, barrel system, hopper, goggles, nitrous (or co2).....................

any info, insight, good sites, recommendations...????

It's been a while since I read up about paintball stuff, but I think this still holds true:

Goggles - Get a really good goggle system. There is nothing like being able to see everyone. I recommend the VForce masks. I personally own a Profiler and it is a great mask. Very comfortable with great vision. No fog and the lens takes 10secs to switch out.

Hopper - Anything moterized. Halos are top of the line, but tend to have problems. Evos are a bit cheaper but don't feed as fast. The lid tends to be pretty crappy.

Barrel System - Pretty much any barrel system will be fine. Look for one with inserts. I personally use the Powerlyte sceptre.

Marker (gun) - Antyhing electronic. You probably want to spend around 600$ here. There are so many good markers at that range, it's not even funny. The key is the weight and balance of the marker. Most importantly is how it feels in your hands. How the trigger pulls, etc. Whatever is most comfortable for you is the marker for you.

N2 - Definately go with N2. You'll find that your shots are more consistent. It's also better for the marker.

i was thinking of getting a Ion Smart Parts but i dunno if there is something better for around that price?

I Personally stay away from Smart Parts because they're an evil company, but whatever.

If you like fiddling with things, I would recommend getting a 'cocker. These machines are great and versatile. There are so many cocker techs out there that can help you out if need be. There are also tons of upgrades and customizations you can get for them.

Here's some good sites:
www.pbnation.com (biggest paintbal forums out there)
www.pbreview.com
www.forceofnature.com
www.p8ntballer.com
www.warpig.com

aiight its on....

me and like 30 people are going to Skirmish (in the poconos) on November 20th, which is a sunday. we r takin a bus up there since its 2 hours away and it works out to $20 a person which is so much cheaper then driving urself. and $30 for a full day pass with gun, co2, goggles...... and obviously cheaper if you have ur own equipment.

If anybody wants to go PM me or just let me know!!!!

You should get together and get a few cases of paint. It will be cheaper in the long run. For 30 people, you probably need at least 10 cases of paint.

yeah but since 28 of the 30 people don't have guns they have to buy paint at the place, but im buying my own paint, i have 1500 rounds left from last time i went, so i'll probably buy a case of 2000 and i should be good
Gmoney part II
I went paintballing once in some boonie town in Michigan. Me and my friends showed up and we rented these little pee-shooters. The guys we were going against ( who were from the boonie town) showed up in full camoflage and had what I swear were AK-47's that shot paintballs. They had laser scopes on their paint ball guns.
They also had strategies for were each one of them was going to go, etc. We got toasted. It was fun until I woke up the next morning and was covered with welts all over the place.

Most places, including Skirimish, won't let you bring your own paint (unless you had bought it from them previously). Just an FYI.

Laser sights don't do much in paintball. Pretty much worthless, really.

If they looked kind of like realy guns, most likely you were playing Airsoft, which uses smaller capsules. It's very different from paintball.

The strategies used in paintball are much different from anything you would use in real combat. Good paintball strategy is actually pretty counter-intuitive.
