OOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
that set was sooooooo fkn good, tops jace's set as set of the yr (sorry man, you came awefully close tho), and i have to say would top PvD's 2003 set at GAS as my favourite set of all time.... what can i say the man was amazing, i was expecting a long ass buildup like in his budapest set etc but he fkn delivered right from the start.
Most notable tracks for me
Joey Negro - Make a Move On Me (Joey Negro's Old School Dub)
Coburn - We Interrupt This Program (Raul Rincon Remix)
Pryda - Aftermath (OMFG DESPITE BEING 15 MINS LONG THIS ROXX0R3D)
a few others ive forgotten the name of, but his whole set was an awesome blend of melodic prog/electro/house goodness, i fkn luvd it.
was an awesome turnout of TA's everyone enjoyed it from what i could see
O and adam, have fun O/S buddy lookin forward to partyin with ya when ya get back, as for the rest i'll see you all at sasha and/or habit (ps gimme a gig s) for Gil's set.
got a few pics on my phone will post when i wake up |

Hmmmmm....
Coming from one of his biggest fans, thought it was just another pedestrian Sydney electro-house dj up there for a while. I've feared this electro influence creeping in more and more recently in his sets and it seems as though he's succumb.
He played Piano Tool three times, it's a good track but get over it...
Thought he was gonna unleash some big ones in the last hour but it proved to be a bit of an anticlimax with Crispin taking to the decks at a bit before 4:50 (after Desyn took to the decks at 12:30).
Even though dj'ing may not be about competition, IMO Luke Fair takes Desyn easy this year in terms of their most recent Sydney performances. I'm thankful I got to see Desyn at Global Gathering and see what he's really capable of in terms of normal house music.
I get the feeling that if you liked his Balance compilation then you probably liked his set. I didn't like his Balance compilation.
Oh well, always a next time...
Thx to Sweetchilli for hosting him again. |

how good were these songs :O
WTF was that remix of Planet Funk - Chase the Sun, it was huge!
some of those electro tracks were massive! my god
he lpayed Chris Lake – Piano Tool three times, tribute to how trashed he was :p
Was funny to see Rowan Blades hand a joint to the already trashed Desyn, especially considering Jace and my predicament at one point in the night where i had to hide in the toilets and jace had to camoflage :stongue:
this was the second best set of the year for me after Digweed :) |

um loads of electro house?? he played maybe an hours worth TOPS.
NO melodic prog, desyn doesn't really play that, so don't go expecting it. He plays some very, what i would describe as uplifting house, with some electro influenced basslines, which IMO is what he has always been about.
ANyways here is what i wrote on ITM.
O M F G!!!
What a night!
Desyn was awesome, played such a good set. WIsh I could have stayed right till the end, but I got most of his set in. Got a signed CD too
I was a bit unsure how he would play with a 5 hour set as he has such a unique sound, but he varried it very well, loved it. He looked nicely toasted too which was good
So many gurners there, had fun pointing at you for once Kane you're a mad man!
What's the go with security there and the 2 old dudes suited up ALWAYS checking the toilets, but trying to pretend they're not?? |

Forgot to mention that I thought once again Robbie Lowe, just like at Digweed, played an awesome opening set. Tom Morgan edit of Shake It Again = teh win!
Dunno but still feel the stuff he was playing is like a dime a dozen in Sydney, not the type of stuff that's given him his big name but I guess I was kinda expecting that with a 4hr+ set - he does vary a lot from gig to gig. Well hopefully catch Desyn again in Europe next year. |

Great night! Great set!
The shenahigans were out in force last and it was awesome to see so many familiar faces in the one place. At one point I was telling Gil that I felt like we literally owned the place!lol so many ta's and their respected friends all crowded into the back little corner, talking crap and enjoying th night. Was really nice!
Desyn's set. Was good, I dunno if it was the best, but at times I felt like it was getting a bit too repetitive and wasn't really going anywhere (Aftermath went for an hour on its own). Probably would have preferred a bit more variation in terms of melody, but meh I was on another planet so was all good.
Highlight that remix of Chase the sun. Sent the place into a frenzy! see you all at Sasha.
