I don't believe that it is a remix as such (like Ferry or Tiesto's remixes) but does anyone know what the version of Adagio For Strings, where the strings are sung by a choir, is called. I don't have a sample but I have heard it in various places - such as the adverts for the BBC1 show 'Messiah'.
Sorry if that sounds rather vague but it's all I know and I don't have a sample. Just that the main string part (melody used in Ferry's remix) is sung by a choir instead of just strings.
I noticed it was played briefly in Eastenders tonight too. |

Samuel Barber - Adagio for Strings
Not sure who, but someone arranged it for choir to an 'Agnus Dei'
Plenty of choirs sing it. There's a very decent recording by the choir of New College, Oxford and it's on an Album called 'Agnus Dei'
**
Latin:
Agnus Dei, qui tolis pecata mundi
miserere nobis
Dona nobis pacem
English:
O Lamb of God,
That takest away the sins of the world
Have mercy upon us
Grant us thy peace
