win xp and FL

Hi,

I just installed win xp on a computer which I had used previously for production. However, after XP was installed, the tracks are crackling. This is the first time I have encountered such a problem. Interestingly, the tracks don't crackle if they are rendered to HD. Is this because XP is more of a drain on the system and the CPU is having trouble keeping up? I think its about 1.7 Ghz.

Thanks

:D

I also have problems that my pc is running very slow if I've Fruity open with alot of vst's. So I've set the latency higher but with no succes. Also restarts won't work, so now I use FX Freeze to freeze some vst's. But I'm still having problems with crackling and audio glitches. My cpu is on 85 % the whole time :(

Are there any settings in FL or Windows that can make it run smoother?

Simple way to get more out of whatever it is ur running is ctrl+alt+delete then end explorer i dunno if it will work for everyone else but works for me.

I have done some things to fasten my pc, have defragement my harddrives in a long time. And scanned for spyware and virusses.
Also I've free upped some space so it all was necessary I think.

I also have found a nice link on the net to maximize the power in FL:

Decrease CPU usage in FL Studio

So I hope it all works and I can finesh my song in FL :)
