well the evening started off early wiht stopping by my flag daddys home to check on him and see if he'd had a chance to finnish of my fans as i would've loved ot have had them for tonite. But alas not he had not finnished them yet. next week for sure. can't wait

so then arrived at my boyfriends house cuz he wanted to watch Depersate Housewives before we went. so i suffered through that for 3 hours, then it was time to get ready. packed up Flags, gum, money, wallet, party favours, and met friends down @ the Villages TD Bank, hopped in a cab and was ready to go PARTAY!!!!!!( almost like a double date too: two couples partying together)

gotinto the koolhaus for abour 11:30 i think we missed Aubrey Richards, But Corey was laying down some good circuit and high energy house tunes!. so milling around cuz the place was EMPTY Almost... damn mo's running on Gaytime. so i decided to do some warming up, pulled out the flags, spun under a black light for a while, which started the beingging of a nite of being hounded by the photographers all nite lol. after maybe an hour n a half the place started to slowly fill up, we'd been dancing the whole time, Corey Started Pumping it harder darker and louder.

pulled out the Flags and was flagging, all nite, almost non stop, and ran into a Flagger i know, and loaned him a set. flagged EVERYWHERE u could flag in the Haus. lol minues behind/on the bars.
1:30 < Party Favour Time
some time there was the first preformance she had some good songs, but it was kinda boring, just a singer on stage, no dancers or anything. so that was meh. she did another set around like 4 am
between that time and 2 spend some time teaching some guys who wanted to try out Flag Dancing, then Calderone hit the Decks, and Pumped out hard driving beat after beat.

stayed till the end, had a blast, Flagged my heart out, IM terrible at recognizing tunes. Made some money, by being asked to create a set of Flags for the next Besharam event being held at Fly. my friends and Bf had a great times. the tunes with good, there was LOTS OF SPACE, so u could Dance, and as i was doing wandering through the crowd being a lil socialite finding the black lights while flagging, giving people shows having a blast. All in all Worth the $60 sometime i paid for the hubby and I mademoney tonite, was asked to create a set of Gold Flags for oct 7th for the besharam nite at fly. woot. hehe

Music 4/5
Atmosphere 5/5
decor 2/5 was TOTALLY Lacking in this department
Show 3/5 good voice/ songs. but just a singer on stage, ALTHO they did have go go bois on the risers.
Dance/Flag Factor: 5/5 SOO MUCH SPACE TO GET YOUR GROOVE ON
overall 7/10

Pics coming soon

Well, when we got there it was almost empty.... we spent the first beer debating going to see Mark Oliver..... then we had another beer.... then a few more people showed up, then of course, we had another beer.... at this point it was too late to go see Mark Oliver (for free). So we decided to get high out of our minds and make the best of it.

Some stupid, probably expensive, washed up 1 hit wonder made her token appearence, then Victor took the decks. He was actually quite good.... excellent beat matching, master of the EQ, he did some great buildups and breakdowns.... the place was a sea of hot boy muscles. .... But, it got a little monotonous after a while.... then he played "Everytime I close my eyes, I see your face"... I almost DIED! Take that you silly ******s! That's Trance MotherPhuqers!!!

Same system (poweramps, speakers etc.) as Labour of Love, but the sound was not screwey. They finally figured it out... Perhaps because the room was not as full. There were only 2 lights on the level meters of the compressors in each of the poweramp racks, so I guess he didn't have to torque the system like Armin did....

All in all it was an OK party. Met some very nice people, great attitude, lots of room to dance, wasn't too hot.... btw there were NO bathroom attendants, no security, no search, barely any staff actually.... the gays are notoriously good partiers ;)

As far as circuit parties go, not a bad one... The boys were kinda cute. The music only annoyed me slightly. The drugs were decent. I saw some friends. Of course, I paid $45 for the priveledge, but I have probably spent more on water at Guv on a good night...

The only downside was that some guy kept hitting me with a flag :-)

On the flip side, the crowd was great. Friendly. Sane. Not obnoxious.

Why can't the gays ever hire a trance DJ, though? It's always the same repetitive circuit crap.

u sure it was me ;-)

i had been looking forward to this party for awhile...I was a bit dissapointed. Although the music was great and the crowd was great too, i found KoolHaus too big for the # of people that showed up. I like having room to dance, but felt the emptyness took away from the vibe.

Personally i think the the way the promoters handled this event was terrible. not much advertising, a few really bad posters (so dark. u could not even see them at night). The fact tickets went on sale only 10 days before the event im sure didnt help. I knew about this party since the beginning of August(on victor calderone's site). Why did it take so long to announce it and start promoting it?

Hopefully we can see more special events like this in the Toronto gay scene. Fly week after week is fun, but we need an alternative once in awhile (especially since BOA is gone!!)

Music was really really good. Met lots of nice people and had a great time with my buddies. I liked the decorations and the rose petal thing in the VIP section.

Victor was really great! 9/10 awesome tracks. The sound in the Koolhaus wasn't as lousy as I expected. Couple of weirdos in the crowd but overall had lots of fun.

fly is mostly residents nowadays yes...but you know what, some of them are just as good as the expensive dj's they bring in. Montreal dj Stephan Grondin was amazing last week and shawn riker usually plays a great set. This weekend they have hector fonseca from new york back again. I very rarely have a bad time at fly. same people, same music, week after week. but you always know what to expect :)

Dancecamp should be good,

Riker Falco and Groudin are always a good bet for a goodnite at Fly

Looks like I missed a good performance by Calderone.

Guess I'll have to make sure to check him out next time he is in town.
