Seeing as how this is a music forum and all, I'm surprised this handy little site didn't come up in the searches, so I guess it's up to me to christen this baby.
The concept is simple:
1. Create account on last.fm
2. Install a plug-in into your music player of choice (I think they support every one except for RealPlayer, but who uses that anyway)
3. Enter your account info into the plug-in properties
4. Play your music
From there on, the plug-in will send the ID3 info the the server, which will compile and organize all the data into different lists, such as top artists, top songs, etc.
For example, this would be moi: http://www.last.fm/user/cosmic_fur/
They have other features as well, such as groups (I'm still debating whether or not to create a TOTA group), charts, radio stations based on your likes, journals, friends, and neighbours (neighbours being other last.fm users whos tastes in music most closely match yours). |
