this happened on saturday night:
i just want to express my love for sean cassidy, dj robben and of course dj endgame.
this past weekend i was feeling extremely down. in general i was an emotional wreck. at work on saturday night after seating an older indian couple, i continued to run around helping out the servers and my manager. We had a party of 45 come in with the band and had reserved a few tables for them in two sections of the room. I sat this older couple beside one of the reserved tables, thinking they were reserved. When they were leaving i said goodnight, and goodbye to them and the older gentleman start yelling at me...he first asked my name then said "danielle, i think you are racist!" while looking right into my eyes. I was dumbfounded...i had no clue what to say. He explained that we has lived here for 40 years and in england for a long period of time, and has never had to deal with racism against him. That he was going to go to the press about how the company is racist. I asked him calming why he thought this. He replied in a frantic tone that i had sat him in at a bad table, and that i didnt want to seat them in the reserved booth. Unknowingly i found out later that my manager had moved a white couple into the booth the create a larger reserved table on the otherside of the room. The older gentleman started calling me names such as "Jap", "Chink" ... and saying that they were all the same. My manager explained to him the situation...but in all honesty tears were welling up in my eyes.:nervous: :nervous: i know as many have told me that i shouldnt take things like this (from people i don't persoanlly know) to heart. But in my emotional state...i couldnt take it. :(

I have never been accused of anything like this. My uncle (my dads bestfriend) is from Trinidad...i grew up with his kids...who are actually like my sisters...Tania and Shonnaugh. My twin cousins are a mix between trini, jamaican, chinese, newfie and japanese. I have a italian godfather...my family is 4th generation canadian meaning...during the second world war my family was put into concentration camps, everythinh was taken away from them; their homes, lives, possessions and freedom...even though they were all canadian. My grandmother experienced discrimination where ever she went...in canada, in japan (for not being japanese and japanese speaking) My family has lived with discrimination for years...and has held strong. I am a minority in this country still...
It hurt soo much, to be accused of something like this being someone of japanese decent.
So when this man looked into my eyes and said this to me...it hurt a lot.

Afterward he went on saying that his son had married a thai girl and that their grand daughter had my eyes...i think he could tell how much he hurt me...caus as he said that tears were slowly beginning to trickle down my face while i tried to smile and stay calm.
during the rest of my shift at worked i shrugged it off...but it still seriously bothered me.
I couldnt stop crying, when i got home...i felt so misunderstood.
I called drew who tried his best to calm me down...

Sean Cassidy then talked to me...i have never met such a strong amazing wonderful person. Not only did he comfort me but he reminded me about how i have the bestest friends in the world. He highlighted my strengths and reminded me that it doesnt matter what other people think, and that i have a house full of people who luv me in cambridge...he sent his hugs and happiest vibes....He mixed this with his amazing humour and total absolute love.
I realized that even from far away...these people still bring a smile to my face...wipe away my tears...and help me rip up the dancefloor...
thank you: sean, drew and mikey for all your love....and long distance hugs.

dont let one person make you feel bad about yourself and put you down, when theres hundreds of people who know the real you and love ya. so many of us have met you and know that you are a truly kind hearted girl, who loves to have fun, and would go out of your way for someone. everytime i've met you, you've always had a big smile, having fun with everyone, no matter what race.

try not to worry about what one said who doesnt know you at all, and think about all the people who actually know you, and think your totally awesome like me!
EvilTree
The world is full of s. Don't let people who's opinions shouldn't matter to you get to you personally. :)
DJ Robben
it's all love dannie, always remember we love you.
Tordan
I'm sorry to hear that Danielle. Take it from a brown person... the old south-asian folks always think everyone is out to discriminate against them or what not. They end up taking their insecurities out on other people; unfortunately, it was on you this time. Don't take it to heart because we all know it's not true.

Boy, London Pub is really starting to suck these days!!

and like most of you said it, don't let one person's opinion get into your heart so deeply. i know that feeling and sometimes it's hard to avoid it, but in the end, it's only some stupid who doesn't care about how others would feel like after his comments. if someone close to you said it, then it would be a different story, but coming from someone like him, just ignore and move on.

Thats HORRIBLE dannie... ahhh, habibi!! :( :( Im so ing sad for you to hear that complete bull you had to endure. THats so not right!

You are a ing WONDERFUL person... i freakin' LOVE spending time with you whenever I see you and drew on the dance floor.

My memories of you from the cottage are the fondest EVER!!!

I so sorry that you were put through that. Know that I think you're an incredibly person who lightens my mood and brightens my day!

I am honoured to call you a new friend girl! You are 100% top-notch and a fantabulous individual.

Try to smile and not let jerks and over-reacting false-assumption-making S!!!!!!

JAMIE (Jem_hadar).

to me that explains everything ..... being brown myself and coming from Pak - India background i know the ppl. He is just pissed of that his own son didnt marry a typical indian house wife who wud serve his and his wife with daal roti for the rest of their life. Danny hun no need to feel upset. You are an amazing person and all the times i have seen u around and partied with you there is no doubt in my mind that you obviously are the better person in this situation by staying calm and keeping your cool. * hugz *

Cyrus King
I would have probably punched this guy in the face and quit right there..
